Last she spoke to me

"Leave this curse, don't ever look back",
'S what she muttered desperately
Looking down, in whispering tears,
As she rose, my gaze uplifted
While i felt my wrist unbound.
Next i knew, I started panting
Through the heavy, swelting heat.

In the distant evanescence
Of a human savagery
Orange waves that trick my vision
Make me fathom my life's fate:

Violet, yellow, blue, red colors
I see shining on her skin
Every time i turn glass bottles
Into wind chimes in my dreams.

I couldn't look him in the eyes
Wished he'd die, leave us alone.
I'd been weak and so pathetic
Stared in horror, turned to stone,
At my mother's soul's decay.

About this poem

This poem is written from a young boy's perspective, looking back on all the suffering he had to watch his mother go through because of an abusive father. It's completely fictional and was written out if sudden inspiration. A bit creepy. Ps: should be read at least twice to fully understand..
