His Love

Kara Kurtz 2007 (pennsylvania)

I ask myself what I did wrong,
But you tell I didn’t do anything wrong
I keep overthinking because of how I was wronged in the past,
You say you love me,
You say you won’t leave,
But I can’t help it,
I am terrified of losing you.

You hold me in your arms,
You pull me close to you,
And you tell me you love me,
The thing is
When you say It, I can see you mean it

His soft blue eyes remind me of the ocean,
You can always see how he feels,
His arms are my favorite blanket,
They always bring me warmth.

It was hard for me to believe it,
It was hard for me to believe someone could love me,
But he does, He really does.

I ask myself what I did to deserve his love..
But then I think back to my childhood,
I finally found my steady home,
No more moving around and packing up boxes,
He’s here to stay, and so am I.
