Be my sky

I wanted to see you as the moon,
Like all these poets and writers do.
They its beauty in their lovers,
Trust me I see it in you too!

But I don't want you to leave,
As the night falls into a new day.
I don't want to wait for a night,
For you to find your way.

I want you to be my sky,
Always there through days and nights,
Through colors and darkness,
Through rainbows and starlights.

Be my sky and everything under it.
You're not my moon or maybe
I'm not a good poet.

About this poem

We've read many poems of poets describing their loved ones as the moon but I can never see my love as the moon knowing that the moon just stays for the night and vanishes in the morning.
