A rock and a harder place

I’m flush between a rock and a harder place
fists thrust against the wall
the defeat rests on my shoulders
the panic drips right off my face
I thought I’d have someone to count on but it’s always been the same
It never changes for the better it gets worse and I just feel shame.
Should I stay and play the game keep  moving forward one direction  Broken, tamed a blank expression on my face or die alone abandon all hope and return to darker days
I’m stuck in the middle crushed beneath the stress and shame
all because I chose to play this cruel game here I am caught between a rock and a harder place. Half a man not even and in disgrace and I still  don’t know which is the rock and which one’s the harder place
