Is our mind free to be everywhere

Meet 1990 (Earth)

Is our mind free to be everywhere
Where our thoughts lie free and fair
Or we are betrayed into helplessness and fear,
Where our good actions mean nothing but despair.

Age in and age out
People fight for justice everywhere
Where one gets frightened to obey,
Or else suddenly their life becomes so unfair.

Are truth and justice of value anymore
Where corrupt values are the core
Lying and cheating everywhere
Getting replaced by pure inner values to gain more.

Of everyday where fear rules
Where speaking truth is for the weak and not so cool
For strong are those who cheats you,
And loots you to your core.

Or what society is it one
Where honest are trashed and corrupt honoured
Respect and money alike,
Are the commodities which honest deserve more.

About this poem

This poem questions the relevance of honesty in today's society which is degrading day by day and negative values such as corruption, selfishness, etc are taking its place.
