Christmas Day!

It’s Christmas Day
Where the pretty lights are
Hot chocolate cocoas
  Matching Christmas pajamas
Singing Christmas carols
Opening presents at the Christmas Tree

All that visible through our next-door neighbor’s window
While we cling together for warmth
  Our apartment empty
Without decorating
Without a Christmas Tree
 Without presents
     While we gather around at our small six corners table
Eating a Big meal mom made
  Santa may have missed a house, but we never miss a family meal
