Ten Seconds
Rushing in haste, got stuck in the revolving door
We were pushing in opposite directions across the floor
You looked, smiled and raised an eyebrow
I blushed, awkwardly reversed my steps somehow
Those ten seconds of my life, behind that glistening glass
I felt breathless, shy, vulnerable, ecstatic alas
Magnetized, drawn by your aura, I felt restless
Grabbing and kissing you, would've been priceless
You stepped out, into the sunshine
And me inside that dingy banks line
Something did not feel right
I ran back out, you were out of sight
I hurried down my path, nodding my head
Was aching all over, my heart shred
It was like a part of me was stripped away
A part that never existed, I continued to slay
My pace to a standstill, the light turned red
I gazed around, you were standing right ahead
It started to pour, heaven had opened its doors
And a sudden shiver ran through my core
Clutching my tiny umbrella I nudged towards you
You looked up, your naughty smile once again grew
At that moment, I felt lightening race thru my skin
It's finally you, I felt it deep within
We crossed the street, saying Hi and Bye
You walked away, I followed slow with a sigh
Going the same way, but a different pace
Same food truck, coffee bar, but different space
Kept hitting upon each other with the same gestures
Me, naïve, foolish, still paint silent pictures
I couldn’t say anything then, it wasn’t right
Not in future, nor today again if in sight
Maybe it's enough to know you exist
Than knowing, that I kissed and missed
Those ten seconds of my life at that glass door
Are now the last ten seconds at my life's shore
I lay feeling breathless, shy, vulnerable, ecstatic alas
Sadness, pain, anger, do not surpass
Still magnetized and drawn by your aura
I fade with a smile into that aurora
