I choose me

Everyone says it’s going to be okay.
But how can that happen,  when you’ve  decided to walk away.
Promises are meant to be kept,
But instead, you took me for a sleigh ride.
You know how fragile I can be,
But with no sweat, you took my heart and broke it like it was no big deal.
I have cried my heart out, yet I have found no solace of any sort.
Now I stand alone, without you to behold.
As difficult as this may be, I have to set me free.
So I choose me, I choose love.
For I am deserving of it and more.
Everyone says it’s going to be okay.
They are right, and I’ll let it stay this way.
