In the blink of an eye.
Stephen Peck. 1975 (Paisley)
Might only have lived for 45 years, some things caused me thousand of tears.
Dont think for a minute im better than the rest.
Just refuse to believe, planets made up of an East and a West.
Seen those called the west, befriend Arabs against Reds.
Then few years later, backtrack on each word said.
I`ve read books that state, the Greece of our past.
Raised a flag called democracy, hoisted high up the mast.
Demos Kratos, some said, meant people's rule.
Took only a select few to make the people the fools.
The aristocracy was one of the first secret clubs.
Those not in agreement would be publicly snubbed.
Heathen liars, seen with the Devil, make their pact.
Said a new Roman church while perfecting the rack.
Not once did I think I would witness such sights.
See the Hadron Collider rewrite physics night after night.
One night i`d read science had found the smallest known thing.
Next day I would read what they`d found now had 10 smaller wings.
If I am honest, there`s one thing I know in my heart.
The Universe that we know came long before our idea of start.
3 Words stand unquestionable in 45year past.
Omniscient, Omnipresent, Omnipotent have seemingly stuck fast.
Omnipotent trumps time even as powerful as it may be.
For theory`s state black holes gravity time and light cannot flee.
Omnipresent the next favourite word on my list.
I feel that questioning is one of the smartest things we, as humans, did resist.
Omniscient, that`s all knowing if your anything like me.
Is the one that still takes my breath away out the three.
For even as far as we claim our machines can observe.
My breath escapes me as the human in me still has the nerve.
To ever for a second, think I might ever comprehend.
How my creator made all and nothing with no beginning and no end.
