Purity

Such soft and tender lips
Touching mine in the misty rain.
The street lights came on and we should have been home.
Time stood still and the rain washed away any pain.
Your hand held in mine
A grip I never wanted to let go.
Our time was slipping slowly but how were we to know.
We held each other closely
And found a spot atop of the world.
We lost ourselves in each other for a moment
To never be unfurled.
From a girl to now a woman
From a boy to now a man
We bonded under the moon for the first time
Decorating the dream with pearls.
Where did the time go?
How did we lose such purity and forget each other?
I always dreamt our paths would cross again and we may get a second chance.
Although we can't relive the past, we will always have a connection that can't be taken away by time.
