Ode to Music

Anoushka Dixit 2002 (India)

Ode

Whether I am happy, or I feel sad,
When I get angry and everything seems bad.
You are the one who holds my hand,
In my worst times with me you stand.
Hearing you makes me forget all worries I had,
And tuning along with you makes me really glad.
You being simple music taking me into another land.
The magic of music marvels my mind,
In my playlist complete satisfaction I find.
A good collection of your varieties has some impact,
Not just in my mind but also in the way I act.
It gives me motivation and makes me the most positive kind,
It helps me chase my dreams without making me blind.
Towards smiling and optimism I attract.
Having you as my lifeline, many times I have thought,
Exploring different boundaries and expressing a lot.
You can open my creativity box and make me think beyond,
And keep me surrounded by people and thoughts of which I am fond.
I could just weave another form of you whether happy or not,
But that’s what I dream of as in reality all those benefits as a listener I got.
So whatever happens just like family, I want to keep our bond.
You are not just a tune, you are more than that,
You are a tool, and can create unity with the powers of flat.
You have no language, no caste, gender or race,
You connect the whole world in just a single place.
You teach everyone can be loved irrespective of their habitat,
For achieving unity in diversity you are a perfect diplomat.
Along with other tools, even world peace you can ace.
After all I believe that life is a song,
In some places it can go wrong,
As life can give me a beaming face as well as a frown,
Like the scale of any song goes up and down.
I make sure to keep it high for most long,
And always enjoy it all the time along.
Because then never in misery will I drown.
