Oblivion

Mary Khate Antonina Sevilla 2003 (Bislig City, Surigao Del Sur, Mindanao)

A closed place, it suffocates me but I cannot complain,
I fear my heart grew to find its comfort.
Oh, the amount of pain, it never drains,
Will it ever come, the last resort?

As anger came rumbling in like thunder,
My emotions drives my mind astray.
I know I overthink a little, I hope it will be over,
But I don’t know if I am ever going to be okay.

I wish that I would get better,
I wish that one day it’ll come to me.
I wish I could manage to remember,
I wish oblivion will have mercy on me.

About this poem

The birth of this poem was because of the extreme stress and disappointments that had rained on me back on October, and it had drained me emotionally that even my mind would forget so many important details or memories in my life and it scares me.
