Black Woman
Stephenie Dargan 1975 (Florida)
We give our heart and soul, but still we are looked upon as fetishes and trophies of others who see only the worse in us. We give our time to those who wants nothing but to murder and torture the minds of women that carried everything on there backs even on the most brutal days. We love so hard to those who suppose to protect us, that even they have started to reject the foundation which they once slept. Our eyes are filled with everlasting waters that can not be wiped away, but yet we press on saying tomorrow has to be a better day. I mean no harm, I’m just full of grief, anger, and a little bit of hostility. One thing I can say for the Black Woman of today, we still gotta a long journey, but don’t you worry, cause we’re gonna be us till our dying day.
