A Love I could not Forsake
A LOVE I COULD NOT FORSAKE
What can be used to measure a mother's love?
Can steel tape be used to measure the distance?
Can a Compass be used to Navigate the route?
Is there even a distance to Mother's love for her baby?
My dearest mother,
For all that you have done for me am grateful.
For all the sacrifices, love, and care in my life,
Am blessed:
Oh, Mother, thou art the expression of love!
Like red hot charcoal, it blazes abroad.
Knowing you has been a blessing to me;
When I think of the excrete,
The piss, vomit with which I wetted you:
When I think of the long nights that your eyes did not kiss pleasure,
When I think of the fire,
That burnt your lovely tender finger many times,
When you cooked for me;
My voice becomes a desert with an ocean of praise.
My gratefulness is evergreen,
For nurturing me in your warm womb for nine good months:
For all the love you showered me with;
For all those tender kisses my face received from you,
I am grateful.
I remembered that day Oh, mother!
When I made you very angry that you had to throw me a stone:
When the stone wounded thou me, and, I ran inside;
Bleeding and crying furiously like a wounded dam,
It was thou O mother that cried most…
Thou tucked me on your firm back with is yet my solid rock;
Like a baby, you carried me to the hospital.
Thou oh mother felt more pain than I, watching me on my lone bed.
Thou oh mother made my cold bed warm.
Later that night, thou oh mother gave me a bath of love,
And made me a drink that quenched my overflowing tears;
And you lay me on thou still waters to rest.
For all the pains you took for me
For all the baskets of blessings that you weave for me am grateful
Oh my mother, your daughter GOLDEN is grateful to thou.
