The Serpent Intercepted

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

The last play was a long one,
A desperation pass.
They’re calling it Hail Mary,
Cause they went to the wrong class.

They listened to religion,
That was taught to them by men;
They never heard the Word of God,
Taught by the truth, Amen.

The Son rose up into the air
And made the interception.
The officials made the wrong call;
Due to lack of depth perception.

They couldn’t see he came down,
With the ball pressed to his chest.
They couldn’t see the heart of God,
Through his seed, them to bless!

But if you’ll check the replay,
It’s recorded and its true!
You’ll see that Jesus made the final grab
And saved both me and you!
