Her Prince

Leroy Trail 1974 (Kentucky)

Where is her Prince
One to sweep her away;
This is a question
She asks everyday.

The look in her eyes
The emptiness within;
Awaiting her Prince
As another day begins

Many have come to court
And to swoon;
Yet, not one of these gents
Could prove he was true.

The words on their lips
Sounded sweet and convincing
Only to leave this fair maiden
Even more sad and empty.

She awaits ever so hopeful
Heart says," build up thy walls."
Her prince seems nowhere in sight
As another night falls

Will her rescue be real
Or will he just be a hoax
Can her heart be broken again
Will she forever remain alone.

Just trust my princess
Your prince true will come
He shall rise above others
Holding the Sun

He may not appear perfect
But his heart so pure
For whatever ails you
He will attempt to cure

His heart and words
Speak the truth;
He hasn't much to offer
But will give it all to you.

His love will he profess
His loyalty, trust and heart
Shall be given
To you as a start

So, behold fair lady
Your Prince shall arrive
Be sure, when he shows
You have opened your eyes

You will be his world
As he gives you all of him
Be ready, for he will
Arrive on a whim
