An Ode to Hope

Never lose hope, hope is a rope.
Whenever I have failed in my life, hope, you have become my friend.
You have lend me your hand, to help me rise back from every fall.
Hope, you have always filled my timid and hopeless heart with power and strength.
Hope, your are the one, who enlivens me when there is darkness all around.
Hope, you enlighten me by awakening the courage latent within me.
Hope, you give me the impetus to stand in front of all odds.
Hope, with your magical powers you are my guardian angel,
You show me the path when I am lost in the stormy night.
Oh! Dear hope! My Best Friend, never leave me.
For, I know, the day I will lose you, dear hope, I will die before death.

About this poem

This poem is an ode to hope. In life, whenever one holds on to hope, one achieves everything, but when one loses hope darkness encumbers our existence. This poem in a simple yet intense manner pays a rich tribute to this innate virtue.
