Goodbye Old Friend
Chloe Jasper 2009 (Landstuhl)
Head full of dreams, not a single one shattered.
She had me, and that’s all that mattered.
Sure the hardships came and passed.
Just little things, they never amassed.

Slowly the hardships got harder and harder.
Soon, I had to think smarter and smarter.
Suddenly there was nothing I could do.
I couldn’t help, she needed someone new.
Perhaps someone more like her.
I began to wonder if there were.
She grew farther and farther away.
There is barely anything left of her here today.
Don’t go old friend, don’t leave me behind.
