Stalker

There it is again
As a stranger of ill repute
Following me
Stealthily
Creeping
Slyly stalking
Matching my steps
I dare not turn to look
But in my peripheral
I'm watching him
Watch me
I quicken my pace
Stepping quicker
My alarm internal shouts
My brain says, "Run!"
My aged body gripes and moans
These knees harshly refuse to comply
Rebelliously slowing down
As if to assist in the capture
This enemy... my enemy
Relentless is
And masters time
He is no stranger...
He is death
