The Gargoyles of Notre Dame

Many a day, I sit and watch
The anxieties of humans from atop

A menacing view on a Cornice of gray stone
Way up high upon a throneless throne

Once I was nefarious, being made of flesh
Until this curse was placed upon my head

Arenaceous splintering beneath one's feet
Harsh winds and rains and aged concrete

A whisper of Solace from spirits of old
Once smitten with angels, now defeated foes

I anxiously await the day of the Seventh Moon
Where creatures of this world will become your doom

When veils are removed from human eyes
As demons ascend from a hellish demise

Anchoring in soulical men
A feast upon the soul of those with raised chins

I caution you this... to stand your ground
Will release the hounds of hell... an encampment around

The fate of mankind will have no shelter
Like a rising tide upon the sea in stormy weather

I'll see you soon in this place of, time
Where your flesh will become my flesh
And your souls will be mine

For within the chambers of darkness
There in lie enough demons to darken the brightest of skies

I've only seen the calamity of the demonically insane
When Aquifers gave way, and the skies brought rain

The prayers of the undead...
Below heaven's ceiling have they remained

These prophecies have long awaited to fall from my lips
As demons swell upon the skies
So will the undead begin to rise

From top to bottom and from side to side
The Gargoyles of ancient bloodlines will be your demise.
