The Flame Of Love

Your unforgettable name,
engraved in my heart;
has ignited in me,
the inextinguishable flame of love!
Through the gloomy days,
Through the reapy hays,
Through the drunken nights ,
and my heart's might,
I shall remember your name;
For it ignited in me,
The inextinguishable flame of love!

From the narrow lanes of mind,
From the windy shades of my heart,
I shall protect the flame;
no matter what!
For it reminds me,
of the frenzy in my heart!
I shall protect the flames,
come what may!
For I seek refugee in it,
from the wrath of my thoughts......

Through the passing time,
Through the rhyme of mine,
Through my kith and kin
and even at the time of death;
Let me remember your name,
which I have engraved in my heart;
For it ignited in me,
The inextinguishable flame of love!

About this poem

This is a poem written in my early days as a poet when I was very new to writing. We all have a person in our life whom we love very dearly, a person who first ignited the flame of love in us. This poem is an insight as to how the flame of love is a personification of the person whom me we find solace in.

I'm currently a student who aspires to become a poet as well as a distinguished writer in the coming years. By writing poems, I let out all the unsaid words wanting to come out and that maybe one of the major reasons as to why I hope to connect more with poetic people like me. more…
