My Autumn Spring

my last resting leaves are now brown.
surviving through decades of my autumn.
whilst everyone is blossoming in their spring.

my broken pieces of dignity, lay there like the rustling leaves on a pavement, being crushed under their feet.

stripped off of honour,
there i am,
as vibrant as a widow's eye.
as cheerful as a graveyard.
and as beautiful as a poisoned mind.

yet u came for my shade, when you know there's none.
yet u came for my breeze, when you know i can't breathe.

what more can i ask. what more can i gain.
instead of your company, that brings my spring.

About this poem

I have a friend, who in my worst times never left me alone. When I felt really alone his very presence beside me would spread a smile on my face. This poem is about that friend.
