Mommy

I am a wife, I am a mother'
A housekeeper and a lover;
A financial whiz, the laundry keeper,
A hair stylist and sidewalk sweeper.
I am a counselor, the dryer of tears,
A shoulder to cry on, an answer to fears;
An under-bed-checker and toy picker-upper,
A chauffeur and fixer of supper.
I'm a shade=tree mechanic, nurse, and a Doctor,
All-time nutritionist and after school proctor;
But my best job of all is with just one kiss...
I'm the healer of 'owies.'   My Sweet Total Bliss!

About this poem

I wrote this poem in the course of raising my children. Motherhood is difficult at times, yet the most rewarding accomplishment.

Rebecca L Boling

Hi. I'm Bekka. I've always loved poetry, even as a young child. That love, I'm proud to say, was passed down to my son. I can remember as young as 4 years, he would go grab my "poem book" and jump in my lap always asking me to read my poems to him. So for both of us, poetry has become a bond between us. This is exactly why I enjoy poetry, it crosses generations and reaches deep inside your soul. more…
