Invisible

It's one thing to be without family.
It's another to be without friends.
The worst is to have neither.

When your young, you think you can do anything.
When your old, you think you have done everything.
When your doing it, it's feel like the weight of the world.

As a young woman, I was homeless with my mom.
As an old woman, I am homeless with my kids.
In the middle, I was homeless and alone.

Family ignores the cries for help.
Friends turn the other cheek.
It's only you, against the world.

No one helps.
No one cares.
They look at it as punishment for the mistakes you have made.

The truth is, it's only you, against the world, and whoever is with you.
The truth is, it's traumatic, and something you never forget.
The truth is, if and when it's over, you can never look them in the face again.

Homelessness, your alone.
Homelessness, it's on your shoulders.
Homelessness, no one ever understands.

You never get over it.
You never forget.
You fear it.

For some, it's gets better.
For some, it gets worse.
For others, it's life.

For the rest, the homeless are invisible.
