Independence

There are things you want to remember,
And things you're trying to forget.
Things you have tried to do,
though you may somehow regret.

It's not that easy to be a kid,
when they're telling you to grow up.
Not that easy to go forward,
when you've been told to give up.

How can you decide for your own,
when there's too many advises.
How to live a normal life,
when surrounded by the judges.

Of people trying to mold you,
but seems getting overboard.
when trying to un-follow them,
they get angry when ignored.

I'm the captain of my ship,
though you may think it's sinking.
I can make it rise again,
so don't mind me with my thinking.

About this poem

This poem is about the reality in life where a person should take into consideration whatever everyone think he is now and he should be. You, however, think that you can handle everything on your own and that you have everything under control.
