If words had wings....

On the lonesome night as I begin to write,
Fumbling for words to describe my plight .
Being spellbound riding on the imagination's flight
As I wonder if words had wings how different it be might
Could it aid in diminishing the fright and stopping the blight
For the people's agony is unendurable to the sight!

About this poem

This poem goes on to depict the deep pain that the poet is enduring. The poet is empathetic and overwhelmed by the anguish and sufferings of the people around. She wonders what could serve as a beacon light in diminishing the vulnerability and pain of the distressed ones.
