I Really Wait

Trayee Joshi 2004 (Bangalore)

I wait
I wait on the bench near the sea
In the cold night as I lay
I wait for all these feelings inside of me
To just slowly fade away

I wait
I wait for all these memories
To get erased by the waves
I wait for all these questions
To get answered in twisted ways

I wait
I wait for the stars that don't show up- they're nowhere in sight
I wait for the moon that won't light up-
this dark lonely night
I wait with the empty thundering sky
As we both weep as rain and sigh

All drenched, I wait
I wait, hoping the night will end our little story
I wait, wishing the sea will wash away our diary
But I know somehow
I really wait for only you
I really stay for only you.
