Farewell My Friend

Don’t cry for me my family,
Our love will never end,
I came to you to teach you special things,
To be your guiding loyal friend,
I wanted you to have someone,
That showed they truly cared,
I wanted you to see that you were loved,
All those times your soul was bared,
I came to fill your heart with joy,
To snore loudly down your ears,
To give you strength when you were weak,
To ensure that you had no fears,
I love you all with my great big heart,
I take with me the memories we shared,
I want you to know that I’m no longer in pain,
I’ll miss all the ways In which you cared,

You know I’m watching you sat here right now,
Whilst I try to scratch my back,
But we all know short legs aren’t really great,
When your tummy’s a little fat,
Don’t worry if you can’t see me as I really am still here,
Don’t feel that you are ever alone,
I’m am always going to be near,
I’m In all of your surroundings, In every direction you can see,
The truth is we’re connected by heart,
So speak out loud if you are missing me,
This life I’m living now is good,
I met all our loved ones that came here first,
I’m surrounded by hugs and so much love,
My big old heart could burst,
I know that your still hurting,
So I’ll leave you signs of me all around,
That bark you thought was just like me,
The heavy sounding paw steps on the ground,
The weight you will feel upon your leg,
As tho my head is truly there,
It’s just some of the ways I’m still loving you,
I’ll always be here to care,
Our spirits are meant to travel lots,
It’s how we all have to learn to advance,
But your big old boy will catch your eye,
From the shadows as you glance,
I’m sending so much love to all my family,
I’ll miss the way we play,
My heart is with you forevermore,
It was never meant for just yesterday,
I’ll be waiting to greet you again in time,
For now I ask you be truly strong,
Live as though I’m still by your side,
You were brave my friend all along
