Dear Inner Child

I still feel your wounds
but I'm not in the mood
you've faced severe rejection
when all you needed was acceptance.

I still relive the trauma
yet I clear it all with a mantra
my mind has me wondering
if I weren't as loving.

You taught me love
which made me tough
you showed me my divine self
which had been long abandoned.

It's time for us to heal
and that's a deal
Let's ground ourselves to mother earth
knowing the wounds are forever healed.

I never left, never did
I'll never be above you nor below you
but always beside you
