Beautiful Change Made Ugly

BEAUTIFUL CHANGE MADE UGLY
Eagerly seeking the miracle
For deliverance from the shackle
Fastened around us like a buckle
Threatening our existence as a people
Alas! We got the changing cycle
Yearned for, for sooo long not a riddle
From us embittered people
Echoing change, change in every angle
In our national life as a failed people
Changing to a reviving people.

Our legal tender withering
Commodities sky-rocketing
Tokunbos, second hands far-reaching
Far-reaching? No! not reaching
Could the people be dreaming?
Could the deliverance be a mirage?
Or, perhaps the demons deranged
Unleashing their wrath to kill the re-birth
Of this beautiful change demand
In an ugly phase garage.

The messiah is overly overwhelmed
The demons are unfathomably deadly
The people are paradoxically impatient
The arrows are dangerously flying
Who get hit?  Who get killed?
Who is the messiah? Who are the demons?
The people are jinxed in what appears
To be the entangled phase
Of this beautiful changed ugly.
