Alayla

There it laid in the cold snow
With not enough light to grow
             A sunflower yet still rose

You are the light in this cold dark place
Yet you still manage to show your glow
Your smile leaves a trace, that vanquishes all sorrow

You are my light into my tomorrow
You are the blossom that rids my hollow
You are my eternal, you are my forever
 Thank you my sweet sunflower
I now have the power to endeavor….

About this poem

It’s about a loved one, even though life can be hard she seems to prosper and shed light to others including me. I’ve never written a poem before so I’m up for constructive criticism haha I’m new to this it could be bad so apologizes if so.
