A Pushover’s Peril

A Pushover's Peril

Shes so over being everyones hero
Her tank is running on zero
No is a word she doesnt dare say
Deep down regret is always at bay
She cares for everyone but herself
Her needs never met, just sitting on a shelf
Shes tired of feeling used and alone
One day her happiness will take the throne
Everyone takes and too few give
She often wonders how to continue to live
Too often she gives what she actually needs
Dreading the place this path leads
She wants to finally feel no pain
But then goes giving more yet again
Far too often she screams inside
Wishing her feelings didnt have to hide
She fears her worth is only in what she can do
Left with resentment she wishes she could undo
She made her shackles and longs to be free
SHE IS ME
