Blackened Blues

How did we fall apart?

I loved you with my whole heart

Then one day by surprise

Your fist met my eyes

It left me wondering what did I do?

What did I do to anger you?

I cooked your meals just right

But I guess it wasn’t to your liking

Now I'm cleaning it off the floor

Because we've been in here fighting

Living under your thumb

Constantly makes me feel numb

You always yell if things don’t go your way

And when I pack my bags to leave

You always find ways to make me stay

Being locked up in this house all day is really getting to me

Love ain’t supposed to feel this way

So how can I break free?

I’ve had enough of the yelling and fighting

And you constantly being in control

Our flame of love is gone

Because our love has grown old and cold

Tell me why do you hit me?

When you’re only supposed to love me

I was a gift for you to love

But you got me going through World War Three

Like Jennifer Lopez, I’ve had enough

Enough of this kind of love

You treat me like garbage that has no use

Me and my life are too precious to take this kind of abuse

My love is too sacred for you to continue to misuse

Some women don’t survive

And some make it out alive

I guess you thought it was fun

Holding me hostage with a gun

I’m sick and tired of being black and blue

From these hands of you

So I’m packing my bags and leaving

‘Cause I’m fed up with your abuse
