The Light At The End Of The Road

Dear dedication, where did you go?
You were the heart of my nation, the heat of my bones,
The unfinished puzzle on my table
The muzzle-remover that made me able
to shine in the glimpse of a second
and fulfilled my pages with enraptured lessons.

Dear frustration, what have you done?
You are the pillar of my self-built isolation, my loaded gun,
The rush of culminating at the start
The action of hesitating and falling apart,
You took my conscience and warninglessly stayed
Obnoxious, you did nothing but evade.

Dear consolation, may you stay a little more?
You'll be the beginning of my reflection, of letting things go,
The broken key of my single escape
The awaken sea starring the landscape,
Let me stay in the block, without moving further
Open the lock, swayed by your fervou.

Dear world, where is the love?
We have used words to kill the white dove,
Under the grey rush of debris
The dark flush that was once green,
In the barren and wasted land, my hope is buried
My maroon and faded hand reaches and carries it.

There will be a fight i'll always face,
There will be a friend that someday will fade,
There will be an oath i'll make with grace
and there will be a light at the end of the road
i'll, heavenly, one day know.

About this poem

This poem was written october 26th 2022 at midnight sharp. It is a self-written collection of verses, the idea of the poem came to my mind suddenly and unexpectedly. Since i beholded the stress and anxiety of starting school i feel like my body is dominated by rage, i deeply miss having something to long for, to be passionate about. So i decided to write this poem which frames the melancholy atmosphere of isolation, of missing the wondrous feeling of dedication and regardless having faith in consolation. It is also a letter to the world, because, even if i (as a human being) get worse or better the world will always stay the same, lately, i've been slowly losing my faith in society for numerous reasons, but deep inside, i still have reasonsto recover it, that's the light at the end of the road : the distant satisfaction that culminates the rough and stormy moments of our lives. It is sort of a profound collection of letters i know i will never be able to send because they are destinated to abstract beings, my feelings.

Amelie White

My name it's Amelie, so as not to spread out i'll write the essential. Since i was a kid, i've been deadly scared of talking in front of a group, so the things i wasn't able to say out loud i wrote them down. The blackened pages have been accumulating since i was eight years old, i write mostly songs (i profoundly adore playing the piano) but i also write poems, scripts, proses, short stories... Poetry is the way I convey my thoughts and feelings to the soft page of a notebook in the most beautiful and majestic way I can imagine. In school people, sometimes, make fun of me because i use "weird" and complex words, but the truth is that i cherish words that aren't daily used because they mean something very specific. Literature and poetry have teached me that words can be employed not only to express thoughts and feelings but also to describe them metaphorically, hyperbollically. Poets and writers such as Sylvia Plath, Lana Del Rey, Taylor swift, Jane Austen, between others inspire me every single minute. more…
