Do I Burden You, My Love?

I don't like myself much,
I find her disgusting and useless,
Pathetic and sour.
The Lover must not see her for who she really is.
They are blinded by her smile,
Anyone can smile,
Or her kindness,
Anyone can be sweet,
Or her eyes,
They are gray without the sun.

The lover is saddend to hear such things,
They worry over her.
Is she alright?
Is there not enough love?
What will she do when alone?
She knows her effect,
Hides herself away from her failure,
And leaves her Lover in the cold.
Why won't she talk to me?
When will she believe my affection?
Am I not enough?

It is selfish of me to want such things.
Disease is painful,
Tiresome,
And contagious.
I don't want to hurt you
And I can't seem to change.
Do I burden you, my love?
