Four Angels

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

The lost our all around us
If they could only see
The light you’re shining for them
So, they could be set free

O Lord heat up the fire
Ignite Your holy flame
So, all those still in darkness
On this earth will not remain

Fire up Your prophets
Pull a live coal from the alter
Touch it to their lips
So, they can speak and will not falter

Cover all the weak and poor
So, they can finally stand
With the precious blood of Jesus
Father, Your Passover Lamb

Let Your wisdom light their way
And open up their eyes
Teach them from the Holy Scriptures
Lord, and answer all their cries

I saw four angels flying
In midair above the earth
And all the seas travailed
As she was waiting to give birth

Many sons were born that day
And many daughters still believed
That in their hearts of darkness
Something good could be conceived
