Tired

Mac Basumatary 1999 (Assam)

I wanna lie down today
Just a moment,
It won't take long
I promise.

I just feel a little tired
Nothing much,
I will be better
So, just a nap.

Don't call for me
I won't be responding,
My eyes would be closed
My ears not hearing.

It was a tiring day
My muscles won't move,
My legs heavy
My body limp.

Sore all over
But I can't feel them,
My stomach hungry
But not my mind.

So just let me lie down
And rest my head,
Let's meet again
When I awake.

About this poem

In this fast paced world people gets too absorbed in their work that they forget about their body, mind and soul, and the rest they deserve.
