This Thing They Call Love

I use to believe in this thing they called us, until you proved time and time again, that, that just wasn't enough.
I built up my walls, and slowly let you in, and for a brief moment , I thought this was it.
But day after day you took a little piece of me, and crumbled me into that person that's not me.
It took me awhile to learn to trust again, and now im back where I started from, which is the end. I loved you more than I did myself, but you slowly killed that by telling lies to people, that just wasn't true. How could this man I fell in love with, even be you?
You have turned my life upside down, because of feelings you said, would never be found.
But now that you love me, it should all be okay, but when I loved you, you just threw it away.
How can we ever get back to that time, when all was happy, and I thought you were mine?
You've shattered my hopes, my dreams, this is all true, I don't think I could ever love again, the way I loved you...
