The Mouse in Glasses

Krishiv Agarwal 2012 (Auckland)

Poem by Junior poet
Age 9 :)

The mouse in glasses

It was a fine sunny day
In the rabbit village of fa- ja meek -bay
Everything was perfect
Including the monkeys, who were walking erect

Then he came
All he wanted, he thought, was fame
The mouse in glasses
With a carriage full of cheese in masses.

He started ruling the country
He wouldn’t budge even for a cart full of brie,
And he made himself leader
Nicknamed himself The Kind - Deeder

Oh the mouse in glasses
Oh, oh, oh
The mouse in glasses
Oh, oh, oh

Roll out the red carpet
And don’t forget, never make a bet..
With the mouse in glasses
Cause’  he’s got cheese in masses.

And one day they came
The yellow foxes- bonne with incredible aim!
Then they broke down the gates at incredible speed,
And came rushing in taking care to trample each reed

The mouse in glasses came rushing out,
In the moonlight looking incredibly stout !
And for once all the rabbits of the cheered him on ..
For he had got his cart of cheese and threw it on the yellow foxes – bonne

And the leader screeched ‘Retreat’
We can’t have our treat of rabbit meat,
Their leader is too strong
We can’t stay here for too long.

Saying that they ran away
Never to be seen till this day
The rabbits had a meeting
And they declared 'leader' What do you want and he said 'a fine new cart of cheese for eating' !

Oh the mouse in glasses
Oh, oh, oh
The mouse in glasses.
