The blinding

Walking through life, eyes wide closed to all the colours of the sun.
Passing strangers who radiate and vibrate in such a way they control us; they use us.
Daily, routinely, methodically we exist; not living just consuming time.
Nuanced souls exploited by wealth and power blinding our true selves.
Conditioned consciousness, suppressing I, suppressing you!

About this poem

This writing was inspired by a change in myself after the breakdown of my relationship with my children's mother and a spell in prison. It's about every day life, conventional life, but not living! The pace of the world and the misery created by those fuelled by greed and wealth. Unaware of what is happening to each and all.
