Sense pretense

I may refuse to listen
But my hearing's all so clear
Though it may not look like it
All words come passing through my ear

Though I may not use my senses
Even though I may seem blind
I have seen most things you did
That you can't simply just rewind

I'm pretending not to hear
It doesn't mean that I cannot
Though explaining what I do
Had left me twisted into knots

'Why pretend that you don't listen
If your hearing is just fine?'
Lest perchance it should mean else
To wishing when the stars align
