Roses and Cages

Love,what is it?
Is it the butterflies fluttering
down your stomach
when you see her or
Is it the pain you feel in your
heart when she fails to notice you
Is it the constant staring
or the stalking
Is it the three words you are dying
to slip out of her mouth
Well Love is all of it
the butterflies, heartache,
the three words, the staring, the stalking
All of it is
Love
They quoth that when you
love something so much
you forget to let it go
You can't let it go
You won't
but you never realise that
She is a bird locked up in a cage
if she is not let out to the world and,
As the cage gets smaller
She will fade away
Sometimes she may not because
You might have made her exit
out of her reach that she couldnt find it
But when she finally leaves you
You drown into the sea
like you will never reach the shore

About this poem

I wrote this poem to show that Love is a strong aspect in your life but sometime that one you love can be the one who hurst you the most. I would like to convey the messsage that its hard to walk away when it love is involved but it is the better option. "Love shouldn't drown you, it should help you rise up"
