And I wish it were in my head alone

Then that venom in your voice could be
doused in an antidotal dose
of spirits

The finality in your tone
would succumb
to chalky tabs of painkillers

Who can tell them apart
Tears mixed with bubbles
in the shower;
Or when my sobs drown in the patter?

Curses will reign where you lacked contrition!

A dribble between 'exes' and 'hoes'
in a game of tic- tac - toe

But ...

A lump has found a home
in my throat.
Oh! this weight in my chest
consumes me
and rids me of any victory

Who knows the remedy
for broken hearts like mine?
