Mama Africa

#Poetry: Mama_Africa

Sweet smell of roses and jasmine
      She swings you can notice
            The song on her lips
Gives a sound of good music
           She fetches the wood
              and makes the fire

Light up the every fortnite sky
            dance the night in style
                   Gyrate in circle
To the sound of the evening wind
       they say the beautiful ones
                   are not yet born
              but if you asked me
I say you may be wrong

I have seen the sun shine
         I have seen the moonlight

Emodu Egbokhewe (Maliki Muhammed)

Biography: I am Nigerian born and currently reside in Lagos, Nigeria. My exploit in the art of poetry is dated back to elementary school days, when my class teacher discovered my flair for pencil sketches and drawings. She would provide me a cardboard, a pencil, an eraser and a photo sample of what she wanted me to replicate, of which, after school hours, I would get busy with the drawing work. Over the times, I am able to develop a sense of imagery with words as well as an appreciable poetry skill along with other artforms such as spoken words, song-writing, music composition and recording. more…
