LADY BLESSING THE UNSUNG HERO

TERNENGE IGBUDU 1995 (Benue State)

The Bible tells me Christ Jesus is his name.
Lady Blessing is a better version of her name.
I search my similes but get none to compare her.
I turn to my imageries but get no perfect picture of her.
Her culture starts and ends her life in the kitchen.
But she bears the burden of working within and outside the kitchen.
Not even Pharaoh can stop her from taking people out of Egypt.
She believes the promised land is for all Israelites in Egypt.
Though earns small stipends from the government,
She is richer than Elon musk in human investment.
Though not gifted with children,
She mothers people's children.
She makes people up with happiness.
Even when the society thinks it's not her business.
Before her eyes everyone is equal.
She is everyone's succour.
Though corrected using the stick approach,
She uses words for her reproach.
When disagreement comes,
She ask those at war of words to know where it's coming from.
Though the Nigeria constitution jokes with education.
She lifts people to the highest level of education.
I am product of her good deeds.
Though an orphan, I shall soon grab my degree.
