I messed up

matshediso motloung 1991 (Sasolburg)

How dare I deny the truth
When you loved me for honesty
Forgive me for my flaws
Im not saying forget the fact that
I yearned for his lips instead of yours
Yes I stooped this low
And stepped in a mess
Which resulted as a loss
At the expense of a long lived love
That lacked sparks
Same ones that sparkled
When praised this beauty that
Once attracted you
Im sad you had to question who you are to me when you completely complete me

Yeah you right I messed up

I failed to remember who
My heart beats for and listened
To my instincts
Slowly seducing my mind
This feeling fed me
What our once upon a time once felt like
The smell of his cologne wreekng
On his tshirt even after we've played in
The sheets

Yeah, you right I messed up.

I failed to approach
you and allowed him to poke me
When truth lies with feelings
And not emotions
I've been having this affair fascinated
By his presence
He became my comfort when every
Conversation with you felt like a confrontation
Plain simple love of obligation
But u do know that I love you right?

I know I messed up

Decades of loving the love
Thats about to leave you for a lust
That lasted few hours
I know I messed up
I ruined trust and  made room for lust
I longed for him and not you
Because I saw more of him instead of you
Felt his presence pressed against my body
And yet I slept with you

I know I messed up
I had a fling with a friend
And couldn't stop flirting
Flaunting this fun for people to see
I forgot what we had was more than
Just a friendship
Ok fine! Hate me
I couldn't grab hold of myself
And I Stripped for him
Now im failing to explain
Where i placed my pride and dignity

Yeah, you right I really messed up
