I AM A POET

      I AM A POET
I don’t know what to write
How to write and what to write
Still I have to write,
As I am a poet.

Don’t know how people write
So easy on every occasion, poems
Feelings might be poignant or casual
I shudder to think when I try, still I try
As I am a poet

Search for a lexicon
Gorgeous words my readers fancy
Though unintelligible, but high sounding
Simple words mirror my poor intellect
Still, I am  a poet

My friends, my close acquitance write
Is it jealousy or inspiration, a big doubt,
Whispers  me to scribble very aimlessly
As I am a poet

Should I follow Johnson or
Wordsworth, his Solitary Reaper
Or my own crude imagination that is out of
My knowledge but must be highly elite
As I am a poet

May be devoid of emotions, lessons
I love floating of likes and applauses  , anyway
I establish mine to be a poet, to satisfy my hunger
Still I am a poet.

About this poem

Poetry is not a restrained form but a natural outburst of true feelings, but having an attempt to pen a poem without pupose is aimless.
