Girl child

I am a girl child in need of support and help,
but am helpless
i always watch my brother go to school,
but all am told is to shut up
am rather annoyed or furious but no solution.

Time has come for me to work,
time to show my happiness and kindness to the helpless.

Why was i always unlucky
after being heart broken
i was exposed to hatred
and no one was there to help.

I had no education,
this person so kind,
friendly and welcoming
decided to support me.
I stood for my rights and now am of full intelligence.
This is the end to my step mother.

About this poem

I wrote this poem because i was once mistreated by my step mom. A boy also came in my life as if he wanted to help me but he just broke my heart and left. Two years later i got a free scholarship and i started going to school.
