Do you ever listen ?

Do you ever listen ?

It feels like I am talking to a wall

Your face says it all

The words which I speak, you hear them as lisps.

It feels like I can’t really communicate with you

There’s a barrier that can’t be seen, but it’s ever so present

How can I get across to you ?

How can I cross this bridge between us?

Sometimes I think you don’t care

It feels like a never ending nightmare

Repressed emotions finally surfing up

I’m tired and I want to scream

But this fear won’t let me be

I’m afraid of the loneliness that comes with your absence

I’m afraid to face the world alone, hence am still here

But I fear, for how long will I continue to be here

In this place where there is no love

Do you ever listen ?

Do you even care ?

Will you ever care?

One day, I hope you will listen

But I know that day will never come

About this poem

I wrote this poem at one of my darkest moments, when I felt like I was reaching out to someone so dear to me somehow my love was never enough to bring us together.
