Blindfold

Asemahle Mkiva 2006 (Cape town)

Blindfolded

They saw scars
Not how my hand was held
They heard screams
Not the words that gave me butterflies
They saw eyes filled with fear
Not the eyes that showed love
They saw the broken limbs
But not how they were kissed one by one
They heard lies
Not the love that was made passionately
They saw a monster

Now I wish I could have too
